Computerised CBT

Computerised CBT

There are two ways to help yourself using online resources that use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which is an effective therapy for anxiety and depression.  We have two programs available, Beating the Blues, which helps with depression and feeling low, and FearFighter for panic and phobias.

Both allow you to help yourself online in your own time.  Plus you get telephone support in between sessions.  Both Beating the Blues and FearFighter are easy to use, you don't need to be a computer expert to use them.  You just need to be able to log on to a website, use a mouse and type a few sentences.  You will need to be able to watch videos, listen to sounds on your computer and print a few sheets out.  You can use any computer, you don't need to use the same one every time.

Both are recommended by NICE and are shown to be effective treatments.

In order to access one of the online programmes you can either speak to your GP who will be able to process a referral for you. Alternatively, you can contact us on 0114 2264380 where we can book you in for a telephone screening appointment with one of our IAPT workers.
